Career and College Success Begins Here

At Academy at WGU, we focus on unlocking the potential in each student. Learning can be difficult for many individuals, particularly those with no college experience or those who have struggled in the past. We help them become resilient learners AND develop the core academic skills that prepare them for success in earning a postsecondary credential—a certificate, associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree.

Our focus is developing noncognitive skills that lead to better outcomes in college and beyond.

We’ll share our proven program for student success.

Academy at WGU was established to support college readiness with workforce groups, nonprofit organizations, and other community groups who realize that a “career-ready education” is crucial to an individual’s long-term success. And that lifting up others through education benefits us all!

Improved communications and the confidence to effectively collaborate

One-to-one coaching to help identify and reach their goals

A program that will help them develop a thriving mindset, confidence, and professional skills

Here’s where our science backed program comes in.

Academy at WGU prepares students for future academic success through our science-backed, breakthrough social-emotional learning model, Program for Academic and Career Advancement (PACA).

PACA follows an evidence-based approach, relying on principles of social, cognitive, educational, and industrial-organizational psychology in each step of the process. We’re helping build resilient learners.

The Elements of PACA

Thriving Mindset

This breakthrough program will boost student performance and prepare them for college and the workplace with the tools they need, such as confidence, self-awareness, the ability to collaborate, emotional intelligence, and the ability to effectively set and achieve goals.

Executive Coaching Model

Students are assigned a Success Coach who will meet with them one-to-one to guide them through performance-enhancing techniques used by some of the nation’s top Fortune 500 companies. Working with their Success Coach, the students set their personal or professional goals and put a plan into place for achieving them.

Peer Support

A series of group sessions helps students feel supported by their peers. Students will know they can succeed and thrive in a college or business setting.

Academic Success
